[1] Master Twardowski (Pan Twardowski) is a Polish folklore character, a sorcerer and nobleman who entered a pact with the Devil. According to legend he made a deal with the devil that he would give up his soul if he ever went to Rome. Although Twardowski avoided the city, he mistakenly stepped into the Tavern "Rzym" (Rome). Still, the devil did not get his soul. First, he was frightened by Twardowski's sharp-tongued wife, then Twardowski managed to escape to the moon on the back of a rooster.

At the Karczma Rzym you will meet a person dressed up as Master Twardowski and find many decoration items connected with the legendary character.
